Blog Spot - What have we been doing

2021 -
Whilst the Coronavirus has restricted a lot of what we can do we still pray for everyone. We have visited families on several occasions with activity packs and kept busy updating the Sunday club pages. We are missing all the families and seeing you at our open events such as Holiday Bible Club and summer family days, which we cannot do at present, but hoping to get back on track s soon as possible.

June 2020
We have been creating more content for you all on the Sunday club page and don't forget that there is also a children's message in the early part of the weekly main sermon. Recently we have been comparing what the bible is similar to and why such as a sword, milk etc.

May 2020
We have been busy keeping the Sunday Club pages full of content and things for you to see and do. We are all missing you and are looking forward to when the church will be open again and Sunday club is available which we hope will be soon.

We have also been visiting many of you and dropping off 'goody bags' just to let you know that we are still around and missing you all.

In April we have been working from home and keeping safe. We understand that we need to social distance ourselves from each other so we are keeping things going from our homes.

We now also have our services online for you to watch.

Lots of people at church are coming up with great ideas for the Sunday club section of the website. We have been creating videos, quizzes, pages to download to colour in and also bible stories for you all to read.

Easter fun day
A fabulous fun day was had by all. Activities included face painting (children's pictures used by kind permission of parents) the most popular being the Easter bunny faces. There was also Easter craft making, resulting in some really well decorated eggs, rabbit ears headgear, and pictures. Also an Easter treasure type hunt, egg and spoon race, pin the tail on the bunnies, scratch art and biscuit decorating to name but a few. The most popular game was knocking over the Easter bunnies.

There was hotdogs to eat along with numerous snacks, cakes and biscuits.

Our Pastor - Ben, gave a short well received message about the evidence for Jesus' existence and why Easter is so important.

The feedback from those whom we managed to speak to was very positive and the children really enjoyed all the activities.

Friday 30 March
Trip to Hall Green Church in Haworth
Church members of Thornhill Baptist Church visited Hall Green Church in Haworth for the Easter service. There was a time of fellowship afterwards and we all had lunch together. This was followed by a walk up onto the moors and back through the village where some called for a coffee and a cake.

The passage which we looked at was  from John 15 v12-14 - My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.
